Annual Parent Survey Results - July 2022
Many thanks to all of our parents/carers who have participated in our annual survey. 51 parents replied out of 310 families.
Key findings:
- 90% report their child is happy at school
- 98% report that their child receives a well-balanced and varied education
- 92% believe their child is well taught
- 88% of parents have said any concerns I have raised with the school have been dealt with effectively
- 86% of parents say school makes me aware of what my child will learn during the year
- 90% believe school has high expectation of children
- 88% of parents say school supports my child’s wider personal development
- 90% of parents would recommend Birch Hill Primary School to another parent.
When asked what we should focus on next year
- Children’s Social Skills and confidence
- More awareness of cyberbullying and Internet safety
- Child’s Mental Health
- Offer more support for children struggling with English and Maths and similarly, challenge those children who are more able
Other aspects of school to improve;
- Only 78% of parents feel that school lets me know how much child is doing
- More after school clubs, themed days and discos
- Communication needs to be improved and fairly disturbed across the year groups
- Review homework policy – spellings and maths
- Improve Annual Reports – they are not easy to read
